Couple plans to bicycle through Africa
Pat and Catherine Patterson ,from Oxnard,
are traveling around the world--on bicycles!!! Catherine is
the daughter of Glenys and Earl Welch, longtime residents of
Arcadia. The Patterson*s left their home in Oxnard on April
12th,2002. They cycled through the U.S.-then through Eastern
Canada, then into Europe. They have spent time in Portugal,
Spain, France, and now they are en route to Denmark, Norway,
Sweden, Finland, and Russia. They will then go to Africa (they
plan to cycle all the way down to the southernmost tip of
Africa) , then swing over to South America, up through that
Continent, Central America, Mexico, and back home to Oxnard.
They plan to travel for 1,000 days(two
years-9months).Hopefully,when in Africa,they will visit my
daughter.
